Chrysanthemum script is a writing style that first began to be used on Tencent microblogs. It is used by netizens to make it harder for online censors to detect what they are writing.

In the upper pane are the words, “Sensitive words can avoid being harmonized; freedom of speech is a must.” These words are converted into chrysanthemum script in the lower pane.
